2012 Safety Group Webinar

Good things happen when we join together for the common purpose of reducing injuries and illnesses. That's the concept behind the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board’s Safety Group Program. Firms join together to plan health and safety prevention measures and incorporate them into their daily business.

The results: a potential reduction in lost time injury frequencies and severity rates.
The reward: a potential for premium rebates of up to 6% for all members of the Safety Group.

If you are a Schedule 1 employer with a firm size of 20 or more employees and in good standing with the WSIB, you’re eligible to join WSPS’s sponsored Safety Group.

Formerly the IAPA Safety Group, the WSPS Safety Group continues the long record of IAPA Safety Group success. WSPS, formed in 2010 through the amalgamation of Farm Safety Association (FSA), Industrial Accident Prevention Association (IAPA) and Ontario Service Safety Alliance (OSSA), is one of four Health & Safety Ontario partners.

WSPS provides health and safety products, training and consulting to Ontario’s agricultural, manufacturing and service sectors, and is a trusted advisor to businesses seeking to boost productivity and profitability by reaching zero work-related injuries, illnesses and fatalities.

The Group's Success Becomes Your Success

The concept is simple.  At the start of the year firms come together to form a regional chapter with in the provincial Safety Group. From a list of safety elements provided by the WSIB, each Safety Group member  selects five elements to initiate or improve upon in their workplace.  The Safety Group members then work together to implement their selected safety elements, attending at least three out of five facilitated one-day meetings throughout the year.
